I’m fast. Well, let me explain: I eat fast, I walk fast, and I talk fast. In fact, I purposefully have to pay attention that I take breaths and fully pronounce the words I’m saying. I quickly realized when I moved out of the state of Louisiana that not everyone talks as fast as spicy Cajun girls like me!
While this is okay and not detrimental to my health, except the eating part, I’ve been known to choke a time or two, it’s not always the best spiritual principle to live by. Moving fast is not bad in and of itself, but moving without the voice and direction of the Lord can be extremely costly. Keeping in step with Him is vital.
Vital.
And I’m not always good at it. I get really excited about things, think I can do them on my own and jump the gun. Think about that expression, “jump the gun”. It means taking off before the gun does, starting before God says, “Go”.
If you are currently faced with making important (or seemingly unimportant) decisions, do nothing until you sense the Lord saying, “Go”! If we learn to live by this standard we will save others and ourselves a lot of frustration.
